La casa di Marcello is situated on via di Faltognano 292, the nearest village is in fact Faltognano (2 km) and there you can find a small food shop to buy a bit of everything, they also make traditional home-made bread, really delicious!
Vinci is situated at 4km from the house following the normal road or you can also get to Vinci walking through the fields (2km). In Vinci you can find all the necessary: there's a butcher, a grocery, a bakery... there are bars, caffË and restaurants.
In the main square, Piazza della Libertà, with the statue of a horse in the middle, a copy from Leonardo da Vinci's models, there's the post-ofiice, the pharmacy, a bank, a pizzeria, a small supermarket, every wednesday morning there's the weekly market.

Florence, heart of Humaneim and Reinessance, is approx 30km from the house, you can easily get there driving on the FI-PI-LI (the motorway going from Firenze to Pisa and Livorno) or from the old way passing from Carmignano, it is also very convenient to get to Florence by train (avoiding traffic ans parking problems) from the railway station in Empoli
and then there are all the beautiful cities such as Pisa, Siena, Lucca, Pistoia, Volterra, but also the smaller towns and villages, less known but really worth visiting in a small distance from La casa di Marcello, for example S.Miniato Alto (10km) famous for the high tower of Federico II or Certaldo (30km) medieval village, or the beautiful Villa Medici di Poggio a Caiano (15km) one of the numerous and grand Medici Villas
